Health Care Fund
This is a community service project sponsored by KBT to provide relief to those in need of health care and other forms of assistance. The fund was established with a contribution of Rs. 14 million from the present Chairman of KBT and his close associates and is an ongoing project with public donations augmenting revenue. It seeks to alleviate the suffering of the desperately ill, who lack the means to afford appropriate medical treatment. 'Relief' is also about allaying the mental stress and anguish of the patient and their families by ensuring that access to otherwise unaffordable medical treatment is forthcoming.
Blood Donation Campaign
KBT arranges a blood donation campaign on each Pasalosvak (Full Moon) Poya Day of the month. An average of 125 to 150 pints of blood is collected and channelled to the National Blood Bank. The priority is on meeting the needs of the National Cancer Hospital at Maharagama, which is the chief beneficiary of this project
