40 Death Commoration of Sir Cyril de Zoysa - Founder of the Kalutara Bodhi Trust.
The above ceremonies were held in the Kalutara Bodhi Trust premises on 1st and 2nd of January 2018, as in the previous years. The ceremonies commenced on 1st of January evening with chanting of pirith the whole night, followed by “Kiripidu Dana” early in the morning following day by paying homage to the Sacred Bodhi Tree and the Unique Dagaba. After the Pirith Ceremony, Heel Dana and valuable pirikara were offered to those 25 monks, who took part in the pirith chanting in order to pass on merit to the founder, Sir Cyril de Zoysa. After laying flower tributes at the foot of the statue of Sir Cyril de Zoysa, Commemoration speeches were made by monks and lay people.

The library at Kalutara Bhodi trust, houses a large number of valuable Buddhist literature.
